After this past election, with DeBlasio having won the race for New York City Mayor, Raymond Kelly will be stepping down as police commissioner. It is his second tenure of this job and has lasted for over 11 years.
His wife Veronica, will miss the life of Mrs. Police Commissioner, with all its perks. She has also been active in charitable organizations. One of them is the Bowery Mission Women’s Center on the Upper East Side. She raised funds for renovations and maintenance there.
She and her husband, Ray, met when they were in high school, one summer. They met on the beach at Island Park in Nassau County, where he was then a lifeguard. They got married in 1963, when they were both en their very early 20’s.
They have two sons Jim, a computer analyst and Greg born in December 1968, co-host of “Good Day New York. Greg had his own problems last year when he was accused of rape, but the charges were dropped.
Raymond and Veronica like to enjoy Manhattan’s social night life and are often seen at different events around the city. “I’m so proud of her, she is just phenomenal,” said Kelly. “She can do anything and everything.”
They are also love everything French, and enjoy fine dining.
Next month, a big day is coming up for this couple. They will be celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary. Fifty years, that takes a lot of patience and love!
