Taylor Hargis is a very proud woman, proud of her husband Josh. Josh, an Army Ranger, was badly wounded by shrapnel from a suicide bomber in Afghanistan on October 6. A few days later, when he had just come out of surgery, he was being presented with the Purple Heart by his commanding officer. Everyone thought he was still unconscious, but to their surprise, he raised his heavily bandaged right hand and saluted! They all left the room in tears.
Taylor and Josh have been married since June 11, 2011. They met at Fort Benning when Taylor came from Florida to visit her brother Wyatt Griffith. According to Josh’s mother, they met and things just clicked for them. She also revealed that the couple are expecting their first child.
Taylor, who is originally from Fort Meyers, Florida attended Cypress Lake High School. She then went to Salon Professional Academy in Kenosha Wisconsin. She is presently a hairstylist at Jean Evans Salon in Ohio, where she and her husband live. Her mother is Jennifer LaDelfa. Right now though, she is in San Antonio, Texas, where her husband will be hospitalized. He is en route from a military hospital in Germany and is doing better.
“I would have cried too,” said Taylor, ”I would have also told him (the commanding officer) how proud I am of him, how proud I am to be his wife, how proud I am of the people he’s serving with over in Afghanistan”.
Taylor, we’re proud of you, too!
