Ruth Schwartz Lew is the wife of relatively new Secretary of Treasury Jacob “Jack” Lew. Jack Lew has been working in the Obama administration for a number of years. He has served as Deputy Secretary of State, Budget Diretor, Chief of Staff and his present position.
But above all, Jack Lew is a family man and an Orthodox Jew. He and Ruth met while studying at Forest Hills High School, in New York. Together they have two children, a daughter Shoshana, born in 1983 and a son Isaac (known as Danny) born in 1986. Ruth and her husband are devote, practicing Orthodox Jews. Jack has said on more than one occasion that he will always find a way to practice his religion and do his job well.
Both Ruth and Jack like to keep low profiles. They commute between their homes in Washington and the one in Riverdale in Bronx, New York. They are extremely proud of their children. Shoshi attended Harvard and lives in Washington where she works at the Bureau of Ocean Management. Danny lives in New York, he is married and has given his parents two grandchildren. Ruth and Jack are proud and doting grandparents and love showing pictures of their lovely grandchildren.
Jack must be pretty busy these days, but I’m sure that with Ruth’s support, he will always find time for his family and his faith.
