Rosemary Weidl
Rosemary Weidl is the lovely and talented wife of politician, Pete King -who recently announced his retirement from Congress.
Rosemary’s husband is currently serving as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 2nd congressional district. He is in his fourteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, however he’s announced he wont be seeking reelection.
The New Yorker born April 5, 1944; is a graduate of St. Francis College, Brooklyn, and the University of Notre Dame Law School.
He began his political career in the late 70’s by winning election to the Hempstead Town Council. Prior to Congress, Pete King was elected to three terms as the Comptroller of Nassau County. By that time he had earned extensive experience as a practicing attorney and civic leader.

Rosemary Weidl met her future husband in 1965 while at the University of Notre Dame Law School. She became his wife two years later in 1967 -meaning they have been hitched for 52-years. Together they have two grown children, Erin Marie and Sean King. The longtime couple are also proud grandparents to at least two grandchildren.
#2 Her daughter is Hempstead Town Councilwoman
The couple’s daughter, Erin King Sweeney serves as Hempstead Town Councilwoman. Sweeney was appointed to serve as the representative for the town’s 5th district — which covers Baldwin, a portion of Freeport, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh and Seaford — following the retirement of Angie Cullin in January 2015. She was elected to a four-year term that November. Her husband is John Sweeney.

According to her daughter’s wedding announcement from 2001 -Rosemary Weidl worked as the assistant to the director of the Nassau County Crime Victims’ Assistance Center in Westbury, N.Y.
#4 She is a talented painter
Noawadyas, the retired spouse and mother spends her time working in paintings. Rosemary has been focusing on her art for the past five years. Earlier this year she was awarded Honorable Mention at the Annual Watercolor Exhibit at the Planting Fields Arboretum.

During her husband’s retirement statement, Pete King said that he made the decision after much discussion with his family and added ‘This was not an easy decision. But there is a season for everything and Rosemary and I decided that, especially since we are both in good health, it is time to have the flexibility to spend more time with our children and grandchildren’
