Meet lovely Pamela Thomas Northam, she is the wife of Virginia’s lieutenant governor Ralph Northam. She has been married to her Army major, pediatric neurologist, who also serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Eastern Virginia Medical School for 27 years and the couple have two children together.
Pam is an elementary school science teacher, she teaches at Cape Henry Collegiate School in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she taught 4th graders and oversaw The Trout Team! such a wonderful way for students to learn various disciplines of science.
Last year she was the event’s coordinator of the Science Extravaganza, she said
“This year they were fortunate to have some special guest attractions. The Richmond Science Museum sent their StarLab planetarium for four shows, the local astronomy club brought their telescopes, and there were two very special visits from NASA.”
The science lady can also manage to be graceful in the pictures next to Vice President Biden
Wonder what she thought of her husbands decision to run? She said about it,
“I was thrilled when my husband got into this race, because I know Ralph will continue to be a strong advocate for the women of Virginia.
On her hubby’s website, she encourages women to join women for Northam, saying:
After being married to Ralph for 27 years, I can tell you that he is truly an honest and dedicated family man who cares deeply about helping others. He has supported my career as a pediatric therapist and educator and is one of the most hardworking people I know. He will be a Lieutenant Governor that Virginia families can trust to understand and focus on the issues that impact their daily lives.
Please join us in our effort to ensure that all women in Virginia will have safe, accessible and affordable health care choices, education and opportunities for career advancement with equal pay for equal work, and the freedom to choose whom they love without fear or discrimination.
Join Women for Northam below and help Ralph continue to advocate for us as Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor.
She can deliver a warm handwritten note, that’s for sure. The science teacher gives us a heads up on her also, saying in recent years she started school at University of Texas Medical Branch for a career as a pediatric therapist.
Pam and her husband are the proud parents of two adult children, son Wes born May 27, 1988, who attends Eastern Virginia Medical School; and daughter Aubrey born March 8, 1991, who graduated from the University of Virginia this year.
Here you can read a post written by Ms. Pam Northam on her take about engaged learning. Her favorite quote is Loren Eiseley’s
Every time we walk along a beach some ancient urge disturbs us so that we find ourselves shedding shoes and garments or scavenging among seaweed and whitened timbers like the homesick refugees of a long war.
