Michelle Obama definitely does not need any intro’s, we all know who she is. Ever since her husband became the president of The United States, we’ve gotten to know her many sides; mostly she’s been famed for being Barack Obama’s rock, a model of perfection as wife, mother and professional.
Specially during the election periods, Michelle makes any man’s dream of a wife and partner come true; being 110% dedicated to “have her hubby’s back”
There are maybe millions of pictures of one of the world’s most powerful couples smiling, enjoying family time, dancing, working, having fun, touring around the world, fulfilling their busy schedules and many agree Michelle embodies her husband’s success.
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, Fraser Robinson, was a city pump operator and a Democratic precinct captain. Her mother, Marian, was a Spiegel’s secretary who later stayed home to raise Michelle and her older brother, Craig.
She and her brother were raised in Chicago’s South side; by grade sixth Michelle was gifted classes, graduating in 1981 from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago’s West Loop as class salutatorian. Which was the city’s first magnet high school for gifted children
After high school, she followed her brother to Princeton University, graduating cum laude in 1985 with a B.A. in Sociology. She went on to earn a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1988, where she took part in demonstrations demanding more minority students and professors.
Following law school, she worked at a Chicago law firm, where she met her husband, President Barack Obama. The couple married on October 3, 1992.
The soon to be man and wife met in 1989 and worked together at the law firm. Both Harvard graduates, she was assigned as his adviser, so you know who was the boss from the get go! At the beginning Michelle though it would be totally inappropriate to date him but after Barack’s persistence they eventually fell in love. She became a mother in 1998 to the couple’s first daughter Malia, in 2001 they welcomed second daughter Natasha known as Sasha.
A married Michelle took on more challenging jobs after that. A hard worker and firm believer in dreams coming true she launch her career in public service serving as an assistant to Mayor Daley. In 1996 she joined the University of Chicago as associate dean of student services, developing the university’s first community-service program. She then worked for the University of Chicago Hospitals beginning in 2002, as executive director of community relations and external affairs.
No doubt her professional contribution has formed her personal interests now as the First Lady. She serves as a board member for the prestigious Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
After her husband’s political figure pushed the Obama family into the spotlight, Michelle was recognized also for her sense of fashion; Michelle was featured in Essence magazine as one of “25 of the World’s Most Inspiring Women.” And has also been featured in countless covers of coveted magazines around the world. Her personal look along with her attire have been praised in many publications and is always something of interest for the American women.
No doubt a hands on Lady, Michelle talks to the American people diligently about the issues that matter the most. The lawyer specially focuses her attention making appearances at public schools, stressing the importance of education and volunteer work. As first lady, she has focused her attention on current social issues. She is dedicated to her family and her work; during interviews her husband, The President has always applaud her job as a mother companion. She and Barack have always expressed their personal priority is their daughters and trying to raised them as “normal” as possible.
After all Micelle a down to earth lady, came from a one-bedroom apartment to residing at the White House!
