Michael Osterholm, the top epidemiologist aka Bad News Mike, has struck again with more news about COVID19.
According to Osterholm the US is entering a fourth surge of the coronavirus and says the next few weeks will see a surge in cases around the world.

Osterholm is an expert in bioterrorism, and is a frequent consultant to the World Health Organization, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, a fellow of the American College of Epidemiology and the Infectious Diseases Society of America and has received six major research awards from the NIH and the CDC.
He is the author of more than 315 papers and abstracts and the New York Times bestselling book, “Living Terrors: What America Needs to Know to Survive the Coming Bioterrorist Catastrophe”
1. He is the Director of the CIDRAP
Michael Osterholm serves as director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota and has spent a career investigating outbreaks. Since 2005, he has emphasized supply chain and other vulnerabilities and a critical need for pandemic preparedness.
2. He warned of a global pandemic years ago
He alerted Congress to the dangers of a viral pandemic that would overwhelm hospitals, kill millions and devastate the global economy back in 2005, when he was new to his current role as director of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP).

He jokingly refers to himself as “Bad News Mike,” because he has spent most of his professional career warning governments and the public about the dangers of a runaway pandemic.
