Diana Taylor is the lovely partner of billionaire politician, Michael Bloomberg. Her notorious boyfriend has joined the presidential 2020 debate stage.
The politician and philanthropist is known as the founder of media-and-data business Bloomberg LP & Bloomberg Philanthropies, and for being the 108th Mayor of New York City.
Both Bloomberg, as the former NY Mayor (for three consecutive terms) and Taylor, are public personas.
Diane Taylor has been gracing the arm of Bloomberg for many years now, however they are not married. She was born Diana Lancaster Taylor on February 6, 1955 in Greenwich, Connecticut. She is notorious for having served as the Superintendent of Banks from 2003 until 2007.
The daughter of a schoolteacher and a biochemist for Union Carbide chemical company, Diana attended Dartmouth where she graduated with an M.B.A. She also holds a degree in public health from Columbia University.
At 65, and 13-years younger than Bloomberg, Diana Taylor has held a number of important positions and has an impressive resume.
Taylor has served as the director at Allianz Global Investors, Brookfield Office Properties and FNMA. Other directorships include Brookfield Asset Management and Sotheby’s.
She has served as the director of Citibank, N.A. since 2013 and the director of Citigroup since 2009. She was also the President, M.R. Beal & Company – 1988 to 1993 and 1995 to 1996. The Executive Vice President, Muriel Siebert & Company – 1993 to 1994.
She served as the Assistant Secretary, Governor Pataki, State of New York for three years in the 90’s as well. From 1999 to 2001 she was the Vice President, KeySpan Energy. She then moved on as Chief Financial Officer, Long Island Power Authority. She became Deputy Secretary of Governor Pataki of State of New York in 2002.
Following her superintendent period, she became the Managing Director, Wolfensohn Fund Management, L.P. –position she held until 2014. Since then she has served as Vice Chair, Solera Capital LLC.
Taylor and Bloomberg have been together since 2000. When Bloomberg was mayor of New York, she was often referred to as “de facto First Lady of New York City.”
Michael Bloomberg has only been married once. He and Susan Brown became husband in wife in 1975 and produced two daughters before their divorce in 1993.
