Jane Stoddard Williams is the loving and supportive wife of journalist Brian Williams, better known as the man behind NBC Nightly News.
Jane’s husband has been recognized for his work as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News. Brian was famously suspended from his anchor job at NBC over his lies about an Iraq War mission in 2015. Now in present times, it seems he couldn’t help himself to blew it again.
The 57-year-old caused a Twitter uproar following comments he made during his show on Thursday about what he called “beautiful pictures” of U.S. missiles launching during an attack on a Syrian air base.
His wife, the lovely Jane Gillan Stoddard is also a successful journalist. She’s an experienced broadcaster and radio interviewer herself who has spent much of her career working in television and radio.
She and Brian met over 30-years ago while she worked as the producer of public affairs program Panorama which was based in Washington DC.
According to the their wedding announcement, Jane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson G. Stoddard of New Canaan, Conn.
The two tied the knot at the First Presbyterian Church in New Canaan, Connecticut, on June 7, 1986. Together are the proud parents of two children daughter Allison and son, Douglas.
Jane Stoddard attended New Canaan Country School and Duke University. She majored in political science and Russian language.
Nowadays, Jane Stoddard Williams works as the host of ‘Bloomberg EDU’ Radio Program. She has carved herself the image of an advocate for education.
The wife and mom of two is extremely active in promoting better education and serves on a series of boards working towards improving schooling for low-income students across the country.
She previously served as former producer of the PBS Series, “Inside Story.” She has been a producer at WHYY-TV and KYW-TV in Philadelphia, and has hosted a local interview program, “One On One” in southwestern Connecticut. She began her radio career at WICC-AM in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Jane’s child have also followed into similar careers in entertainment. Jane’s daughter Allison Williams happens to be a successful actress known for her role on HBO’s Girls. Son, Douglas works for the Yankee Entertainment Network.
