Jana Carter is the wife of CNN political contributor and attorney, Anthony Kapel Jones best known as Van Jones.
You’ve probably seen her husband on CNN’s Crossfire and know he is a globally recognized, award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean-energy economy. But the 48-year-old, is not the only one with clear political vision.
Jana Carter comes from a political family. In fact she is the niece of James Earl “Jimmy” Carter Jr. –who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981.
Her husband is also the founder and president of the Dream Corps and a NY best selling author. He was born Anthony Kapel Jones on September 20, 1968. He has a twin sister named Angela. He and his sister were raised by a high school teacher mother and a junior high principal, father in Jackson, Tennessee.
He is a Yale Law School graduate and also holds a B.S. in communication and political science from the University of Tennessee at Martin. The 48-year-old has been widely recognized though out his career. Named as a “Young Global Leader”; called one of the “12 Most Creative Minds in 2008 and one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

4. Her siblings include: Kim, William, Marle, Mandy and Earl.
5. Jana Carter holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley’s School of Law.
6. She served as the Director of Search for Common Ground’s USA Racial Healing program.
7. She is a board member of The Garden Church.
8. According to her LinkedIn she is currently the Director of Operations and Producer at Magic Labs Media and owner of Kidpacking.
