Elyse Buxbaum
Elyse Buxbaum is the wife of politician and current New York City Comptroller, Scott Stringer -who is also in the race to become the next Mayor of NY.
Elyse’s husband is a longtime politician whose resume includes serving as an Assemblyman, and as the 26th borough president of Manhattan. The 61-year-old progressive Democrat has also been accused of misconduct, an allegation he denies.
Scott M. Stringer was born April 29, 1960; the New Yorker attended local public schools in Washington Heights and graduated from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 1992, where he represented Manhattan’s West Side for 13 years. In 2006 he became Manhattan Borough President, and was elected Comptroller in 2013.

Elyse Buxbaum was born to parents Susan Alderman Buxbaum and Barry I. Buxbaum of New Haven. She attended Hopkins High School, she then studied a BA, Art History, Psychology, and Women’s Studies –at Brandeis University. She also holds a MA, Arts Administration from Columbia University.
2. She is a career woman
49-year-old Elyse Buxbaum is a museum administrator, according to her LinkedIn, she is currently listed as a Deputy Director of Development at the Jewish Museum.
The political spouse has over two decades of experience in the cultural field, Elyse has worked for numerous institutions including the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, DC), Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution (New York, NY), and CUNY Creative Arts Team.

Scott Stringer and Elyse Buxbaum became husband and wife in 2010. The two met during work-related events over the years and things simply blossomed between them. At the time of their nuptials she was 38.
They were married at City Hall in New Haven; the couple said they had their legal ceremony in Connecticut to protest the fact that same-*** couples cannot legally marry in New York State.

Since the couple’s nuptials, they have welcomed two children together. They are the proud parents of two sons, Maxwell and Miles. The family of four resides in Manhattan.
