Brigitte Trogneux is the lovely wife of French politician and presidential frontrunner, Emmanuel Macron. The couple has been married since 2007 and since being in the political limelight, his wife has become quite the conversation topic. Keep reading why.
Prior to becoming a member of the socialist party in 2006, Macron worked as an Inspector of Finances in the Inspectorate General of Finances (IGF) and then became an investment banker at Rothschild & Cie Banque.
Named deputy secretary-general in 2012 by Francois Hollande, Macron has also served as Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs in 2014. In that role, he pushed through business-friendly reforms.
He resigned to his post in 2016 in order to compete in the 2017 presidential election, becoming the youngest presidential candidate.

1. She comes from a wealthy family.
She was born Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux on April 13, 1953 in Amiens, France. Brigitte is the youngest of six children born to Jean Trogneux and Simone Pujol. Trogneux’s family is well-known in the north of France for their million-making chocolate business.
2. Brigitte Trogneux is her husband’s senior.
The lovely Brigitte happens much older than Macron, 24-years to be exact. The two first met when he was 15-year-old.
3. She used to be his teacher.
The two met when he was her student. At the time, Brigitte Trogneux worked as a teacher in La Providence high school in Amiens.
4. They began dating after Macron turned 18.
While they couple met when he was a teenage student in her class, they officially became a couple when he turned 18. The couple stayed together after he graduated and became married in 2007.
5. His parents tried to separate them.
Initially attempted to separate the couple by sending him away to Paris to finish the final year of his schooling, as they felt his youth made this relationship inappropriate.
6. She was previously married to a banker.
Trogneux was married to French banker André Louis Auzière, she is said to have left her husband for Macron. She found a teaching job in Paris t be reunited with Emmanuel.
7. She is the mother of three adult children.
The blonde is the proud mother of three children – son Sebastien and daughters Laurence and Tiphane – from her previous marriage to Auzière. She and Macron do not have any children of their own.
8. Her daughter works in her husband’s campaign.
Trogneux’s eldest child, son Sebastien, was born in 1975, making him two years older than her current husband. Her middle child, daughter Laurence, is the same age as Macron and was in the class her mother taught when they met. Her youngest child is 30-year-old Tiphaine Auziere, who works on Macron’s campaign and is a lawyer.
9. She is also a grandmother.
63-year-old Trogneux is also the proud grandma of seven grandchildren, making her 39-year-old hubby a step-grandfather.
10. She is very active and very much involved in her husband’s career.
Brigitte has been seen next to her husband’s throughout his presidential campaign. According to a French documentary by France3 she helped him prepare for a major speech. Macron himself has also assured she will have a role if he is elected president.
