Siobhan Gilbride Lomax 44, is the current wife of State Senator Creigh Deeds. Creigh lives with his wife, Siobhan, in Bath County at the western end of the 25th Senate District. Siobhan’s politician husband divorced first wife Pam Deeds after nearly three decades of marriage and four children. In 1991 Deeds was elected to the first of five terms in the House of Delegates. He had a notable career defeating at age 29, an incumbent to be elected commonwealth’s attorney of Bath County.
Deeds vaulted to the statewide political stage in 2009 as the Democratic nominee for governor, only to lose to Republican Robert McDonnell. After the defeat, Deeds went through a divorce and largely receded from public view, even though he stayed on in the Senate. Now he is back into the spotlight after several years in the mist, unfortunately under horrible circumstances.
Siobhan’s husband was violently stabbed by his own 24-year-old son Austin “Gus” Deeds. It has been widely reported, the day before he stabbed his father at the family’s home in rural Bath County, the son of Virginia state Senator Creigh Deeds underwent a psychiatric evaluation but was not admitted to a hospital, because no bed was available. The violence also culminated what appears to have been a horrific downward spiral for Deeds’ son Austin. May he rest in peace.
Siobhan is the owner of a shop called “Pumpkinseeds Lexington” a clothing and accessories store. Siobhan met her future hubby while he was teaching law at Washington and Lee University.
Apparently the attack to her husband took place just hours later after she and Creigh Deeds had come back from a trip to Ireland; Siobhan posted a picture on November 18th on the Facebook page of her shop along with the following
Creigh and I are back from our trip visiting all my family in County Meath, Ireland. I’m back in the shop and getting ready for the holidays. Come bye soon…new windows, new merchandise, new everything!!!!!
According to her Facebook, Siobhan calls hometown McLean, Virginia; but she is currently living in Lexington with Deeds. The couple has been married for little over a year, they said their I Do’s in a very quiet ceremony in June 2012.
A few hours ago, she posted on her Facebook timeline
Deeds was listed in fair condition on Tuesday night.
