Rachel Bernstein is the woman currently suing disgraced longtime journalist and TV host, Bill O’Reilly famous for his long running as the host of The O’Reilly Factor.
Reports say Rachel, a former producer is after Bill for defamation and breaching the 2002 settlement agreement struck over harassment Bernstein endured from O’Reilly.
The current suit seeking $75,000-plus in damages says of O’Reilly’s widely published pushback statements after the NYT article and the news of another $32 million settlement was made public in October.
Earlier this year it was reported by the NY Times, that O’Reilly and Fox News had settled five lawsuits against O’Reilly dating back to 2002. Rachel is one of those women and is now claiming he violated a clause in their agreement that prohibited him from talking trash about her.
In the 2002 suit, Rachel said she was mistreated. Rachel Bernstein says she was forced out of her job at Fox News and paid a settlement because of his mistreatment. She did go to HR and other company executives to complain about him several times.
In response to the NY Times article Bill said earlier this year, “In my more than 20 years at Fox News Channel, no one has ever filed a complaint about me with the Human Resources Department, even on the anonymous hotline” –what triggered Rachel to act now. She also says O’Reilly insinuated she extorted him back in 2002 to what she says is a lie, calling him a ‘serial abuser.’
